Shaping Co-Dependency

If we can’t fit a round peg into a square hole, do we keep struggling until one peg breaks, or in frustration, is thrown against a wall? Or, do we allow the round peg to fit in it’s own hole, and the square peg fit in it’s own hole? Can the pegs share the peg board? Or, will one peg need to take it’s chances with the triangle peg, repeating the same mistakes again?
